Saison 11/12 SHL Foundation Award (wohltätige Zecke)
Der SHL Foundation Player Award ist eine Eishockey-Auszeichnung der Slapshot Hockey League. Sie wird seit 1998 jährlich an den Spieler verliehen, der sich besonders für wohltätige Zwecke in der Gesellschaft engagiert hat. Er wird in Zusammenarbeit mit der SHL Foundation verliehen.

Tim Connolly/Buffalo Sabres
An NHL star has made a big impact in Central New York.
Buffalo Sabres center Tim Connolly announced Friday that he is donating $100,000 to the Upstate Cancer Center fundraising campaign. The Baldwinsville native is making the gift in memory of his mother, Patricia Connolly, who died last year of cancer.
In a statement, Connolly says he’s confident the Upstate Cancer Center will be an outstanding facility for the entire CNY region.
Mike Green/Washington Capitals
Green is involved in a number of community organizations and events. He is raising money for Children's National Medical Center as part of America's Giving Challenge, sponsored by Parade magazine. He also participated with Alex Ovechkin in speaking at a local middle school and participating in a game of floor hockey. Green also has a program called "Green's Gang" where he purchases 7 season tickets and donates them to Most Valuable Kids, a non-profit organization that works with underprivileged kids and active military.
Jarome Iginla/Calgary Flames
Since 2002,he has operated the Jarome Iginla Hockey School in Calgary as a non-profit organization, donating proceeds to the Diabetes Research Association. Iginla supports many charities. In 2000, he began donating $1,000 per goal he scored to KidSport, a figure he doubled to $2,000 in 2005. Between 2000 and 2012, he donated $550,000 from this initiative
